Preteen Camp Florida was held from May 29-June 2.
This was the third year of Camp Florida and we truly experienced the Zone. Camp was held once again at the beautiful Florida Elks Youth Camp just outside of Orlando, Florida. From May 29-June 2, 2023, 47 preteen campers along with 35 adult and 15 teen staff had an awesome time!
Our camp saw God’s blessings every day. “Race To Your Crown” was a great theme, beginning with Christian living class in the morning, evening Compass Check and nightly dorm parent time. All campers participated in lots of fun activities like swimming, canoeing, sports, archery, water games and arts and crafts. The campers’ favorite activities were tie dye shirts, gaga ball, zip line and our campfire program, which consisted of yummy s’mores, corn-on-the-cob and fun sing-alongs.
A highlight was a special service project to clean about 600 plastic portable lockers for the facility’s upcoming summer camp program. Dorms had fun as they got wet and competed to see how many lockers they could clean in an hour! Camp has led to close friendships for our campers and staff that will last well after camp is over.
The Elks staff was very responsive to our needs, loved seeing our campers having fun and really catered to our needs. It was another great year and we are looking forward to camp in 2024!
